ABOUT PLDDB

Leading Livestock Development in Punjab

Punjab Livestock & Dairy Development Board (PLDDB) is a Section 42 not-for-profit company working under the administrative control of the Livestock & Dairy Development Department, Government of the Punjab.

PLDDB is mandated to conserve indigenous livestock breeds, promote modern dairy farming, strengthen livestock productivity, and facilitate technology transfer for sustainable livestock development.

Through its flagship Livestock Experiment Station (LES), Khizerabad, PLDDB demonstrates innovative livestock production systems, breed conservation programmes, modern fodder production technologies, silage commercialization, and sustainable resource management practices.

Through innovation, research-based interventions, modern farm management, capacity building, and farmer-focused initiatives, we strive to improve livestock productivity, animal health and welfare, feed and fodder resources, and farmers’ livelihoods. PLDDB – Livestock Experiment Station (LES), Khizerabad, serves as a model facility for demonstrating modern livestock production, dairy management, fodder development, silage production, and sustainable agricultural practices. Looking ahead, PLDDB will continue to focus on genetic improvement, quality nutrition, value addition, quality milk production, and the adoption of modern technologies. With the dedication of our professional team and the support of the Government of Punjab, development partners, and farming community, we remain committed to building a resilient, technology-driven, and environmentally sustainable livestock sector.
