PLDDB is undertaking the rehabilitation and operationalization of the Genetic Improvement Centre (GIC) at LES Khizerabad.

The proposed Centre aims to establish a modern Semen Production Unit equipped with internationally compliant laboratory facilities to support:

• Conservation of indigenous cattle genetics.
• Production of high-quality bovine semen.
• Artificial insemination services.
• Breed improvement programmes.
• Capacity building of livestock professionals.

PLDDB is actively pursuing technical cooperation with international development partners to operationalize the facility and strengthen Pakistan’s livestock breeding infrastructure. This replaces the earlier PPP concept described on the legacy website and reflects the organization’s current rehabilitation initiative.
