Punjab Livestock & Dairy Development Board has conducted a Farmer’s Day at Kasur on 14th July, 2017. Objective of the program was to educate the farmers about the importance of silage for animals, good agricultural livestock practices, animals feeding and prevention from diseases. A sum of around 300 farmers was presented in the training session. Three professional seasoned speakers including Hafiz Wasi Muammad Khan, Chudhary Tassaddaq Ahmad and Baji Parveen (a female farmers’ reformer), headed the technical sessions in the native language of the farmers for their better understanding. The speakers shared valuable information related to livestock management, importance of animal silage, balanced diet for animals and good cattle rearing. On this occasion, Baji Parveen, also share ample information regarding importance of water for animals’ health and feeding cattle on fungus scraps of bread. She mentioned that the proper amount of water and good quality feed would have better impact on your animal health and production as well. The participants of this event appreciated the efforts of the PLDDB and suggested that such events create awareness among the poor farmers about the feeding, health and better productivity of their animals and these should be conducted on regular basis.
