Livestock Experiment Station Khizerabad, District Sargodha
Livestock Experiment Station (LES) Khizerabad, District Sargodha is a 1600 acres Agriculture and Livestock farm administrated by Punjab Livestock & Dairy Development Board. Farm is located at the ideal central location of the province, about 15 km off road from Salm Bypass Islamabad motorway and about 200 km from Lahore. There are about 900 pure Sahiwal cow and about 1000 Kajlee Sheep. There are also some experimental crops at the LES Farm. A Genetic Improvement Center is also under construction in collaboration with ICI Pakistan. An institute of rural economy called Punjab Institute of Livestock Sciences is also working at the Farm. Some ongoing projects on the farm include Honey Bee keeping project, Feedlot Fattening project, Fish farming and many others small initiatives are available at the farm to educate the students and practitioners visiting at the farm. Feedlot Fattening Trial at LES Farm
PLDDB has successfully conducted Feedlot Fattening trial at LES Farm Khizerabad, Sargodha on 100 animals. The trial was encouraging as the weight gain per day was 750 gram.
